Frankfort (NY) Fire Apparatus Repair Costs Rising

Repairing fire apparatus is expensive and the cost to maintain the vehicles is going up. Fire Chief Eric Conigliaro told the Frankfort village board last week that the department has spent $15,100 of its $16,000 repair budget since the start of the fiscal year in June and that budget is supposed to last until next spring.
He outlined several of the repairs that had to be made on apparatus, including repairs to the department’s newest truck. The repairs were not covered under the one-year warranty which had expired not long before. One repair was delayed because of budget issues.

"It's an aging fleet," said Mayor Richard Adams.
