Princeton (IL) Fire Department Gets Approval to Sell Fire Apparatus

The city of Princeton soon will have a used fire truck for sale after the council approved an ordinance for the sale. The truck, a 1986 Pierce Lance fire engine, will be put up for sale for $10,000. A new truck, approved a year ago, will soon be in service for the department.
Ray Mabry, who gave the lone dissenting vote against the sale, offered his opinion that the truck should first be offered to mutual aid partners as a courtesy. Mabry said he knows of the excellent condition the truck has been kept in and thought it should not go to a wholesale auction before community partners had a shot at it.

Goldens Bridge (NY) Firefighters Moving Back to Firehouse

It was a long awaited homecoming for the Golden's Bridge Fire Department. Firefighters moved back into their firehouse Sunday after being displaced since Feb. 2014 when a fire severely damaged headquarters. Voters approved a $2.7 million bond in 2016 to help repair the house.
On Sunday, firefighters spent the day moving equipment, turnout gear, and fire apparatus over to the new building, according to the fire department.

Over the next month, firefighters will continue putting the finishing touches on the building as they continue to get back to a normal pre-fire operation, according to the fire department.

Three Firefighters Injured When Fire Truck Catches Fire

ARIMO - Three Downey firefighters suffered injuries when their fire truck caught fire at the scene of a wildfire south of this Bannock County town. The fire was reported along South Marsh Valley Road around 11 a.m. Monday and initially threatened multiple houses that were about 100 yards from the flames.
The Idaho State Journal reported that three firefighters were injured in what was called a "freak accident" at the scene of a wildfire.

The Downey (ID) firefighters were in their five-ton, 6x6 fire truck when a gasoline can fell off the truck. The truck then ran over the can, which was full of gasoline, and this caused the apparatus to ignite and quickly become engulfed by flames.

The firefighters escaped the vehicle but all three suffered burns, one of them on 40 percent of his body. The other two firefighters suffered less severe burns, with one of them also breaking his leg. The truck was destroyed.
