South County Fire's CPR Challenge aims to train 500 community lifesavers in May

Become a community lifesaver and help South County Fire meet its goal to train 500 people in CPR during the month of May by attending a free training this week: Drop-in ACT First Aid & CPR training, Friday, May 19, 5-7 p.m., Lynnwood Civic Center Fire Station Conference Room, 18800 44th Ave W. State fire association honors Snoqualmie Fire EMT with lifetime achievement award

Catherine Cotton, a longtime volunteer EMT with the Snoqualmie Fire Department, will be recognized later this year with the 2023 Lifetime Achievement award from the Washington Firefighters Association. “I can’t think of anybody more who deserves this,” Snoqualmie Chief Mark Correira said during a speech at the May 8 council meeting.

House catches fire in Seattle’s Roosevelt neighborhood

Seattle firefighters wrapped up operations after an early morning house fire in North Seattle on Wednesday. The fire in the Roosevelt neighborhood broke out at about 3 a.m. at a home on Roosevelt Way Northeast at Northeast 61st Street, near Roosevelt Square. Video from the scene showed the roof was damaged.

VIDEO: Firefighters battle fire at old Pearl Laundry building in Indiana

PHOTOS: Evansville firefighters are on the scene of a fire in the 400 block of Northwest Third Street. Firefighters were dispatched to the old Pearl Laundry building just before 2 a.m. Wednesday morning. When crews arrived, they were met with flames shooting from the building. According to Division Fire Chief Mike Larson, fighting the blaze hasn’t been easy.

Newest, most expensive fire truck in Rhode Island city damaged during house fire

VIDEO: The newest and most expensive truck in the Providence Fire Department’s fleet is out of service after a partial roof collapse caused significant damage. The city’s fire chief says Tower Ladder One is primarily used for its 100-foot extendable ladder and bucket. Crews responded Saturday afternoon to a fire at a three-story, multi-family home on Stanwood Street.
