SEABROOK - Nine months to build and years in the planning, Seabrook Fire Department's Tower 1 engine and ladder backed into the middle bay of the fire station this week. Nicknamed "Rough and Ready" in script on its side, the $1.1 million 102-foot ladder and bucket is as much crane as fire engine, according to fire Chief Bill Edwards.
The vehicle will go through a testing period to make sure all its systems pass muster. And Seabrook firefighters will have extensive training on the vehicle over the next six weeks.
