Nampa (ID) Fire Department Gets New Engine

NAMPA - The Nampa Fire Department just acquired a new fire truck that includes features to help save time and lives. The engine became officially operational May 9, after Capt. Brad Terry and other firefighters worked on it for almost two months.
The new firetruck uses a green star generator, which saves on fuel and emissions. Terry said the vehicle uses just 25 percent of the fuel used by other engines because of the generator. This also makes it better for the environment.

Features also include wireless headsets to aid communication and cameras, which should help the driver with visibility when turning or backing up the 35-foot truck.
