VIDEO: Louisville Metro Police Officer Nickolas Wilt had been with the department less than two weeks before a mass shooter opened fire at a downtown bank Monday morning. He "ran towards the fire" to "save lives", and was shot in the head in the process, police said. Five victims were killed and several others -- including Wilt -- were injured in the shooting at Old National Bank.

VIDEO: A firefighter's shift is unpredictable. After calls, they can physically clean off debris. But the things they see can often leave a mental stain. According to Dallas Fire-Rescue, six Dallas firefighters have attempted suicide since 2018. Four of them died. In their honor, the department and union are pushing for improved mental health resources.

It was 1974, Gear had grown up on the west side of Washington in a family filled with construction and logging work, who he worked for.

Today, the historic Garland neighborhood is quiet, but it was a much different story in late March. Off Hall and McFarland, a home caught ablaze and was subsequently destroyed by the flames. The Spokane Police Department (SPD) says this fire was not an accident. The home was set on fire by 36-year-old Jenny Barden.
