Construction fires among the biggest blazes in Las Vegas history

VIDEO: The cause of Tuesday night’s massive apartment complex fire in the southwest Las Vegas valley is still under investigation. A statement on Wednesday from the company building the unfinished project thanked the Clark County Fire Department for their work in investigating the blaze. “The Associates of Martin-Harris Construction are disheartened by the fire on June 20, 2023, at our Kaktus Life III Project Site.

2023 Firefighter SAFETY Stand Down

The Washington State Fire Marshal’s Office joins the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) and the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) in recognizing this year’s Firefighter SAFETY Stand Down. Safety Stand Down is a joint initiative that is coordinated by the IAFC Safety, Health and Survival Section, the NVFC, the National Fire Protection Association, and the Fire Department Safety Officers Association, and is supported by national and international fire and emergency service organizations as well as health and safety-related organizations and agencies.

Onalaska Fire District Buys New Pumper Tanker, Refurbishes Ambulance

PHOTOS: Earlier this month, Onalaska residents participated in a push-in ceremony alongside Lewis County Fire District 1 (LCFD1) firefighters after the department’s new Rosenbauer pumper tanker was delivered. Onalaska elementary and middle school students helped wash the new truck before the ceremonial push-in on June 6, LCFD1 Chief Brad Flexhaug said.

Brier house fire displaces 6

A house fire in Brier displaced six people Wednesday, according to fire officials. Around 10 a.m., Snohomish County Public Utility District workers noticed black smoke coming from the back of a house in the 3000 block of 224th Place SW, South County Fire spokesperson Leslie Hynes said. Richard “Red” Jensen lived in the bottom floor of the house with his wife.
