Man Wants City of Cincinnati (OH) to Pay after Car Totaled by Firetruck

A man whose car was totaled after a firetruck slid out of control on ice said he is fed up with the city's handling of the incident. The crash involved several cars that were parked along Euclid Avenue. At least one car was totaled and the owner said he can't come close to replacing his car with what the city has offered.
The department has offered the owner what it found the car to be worth before being hit, but the vehicle owner feels the department should pay more. The video of the rig sliding down an ice-covered street was picked up by several news outlets.

Second Hand Fire Engine Rolls into Temuka

The fire engine may be a hand-me-down but that doesn't bother the Temuka Fire Brigade's volunteers. Temuka chief fire officer Richard Webb said the fire engine had become surplus to requirements in Richmond, after the Marlborough brigade received a completely new vehicle.

Temuka chief fire officer Richard Webb said the fire engine had become surplus to requirements in Richmond, after the Marlborough brigade received a completely new vehicle.

"The vehicles filter down from the busiest brigades right down to the brigades that are still doing a number of calls but don't potentially have the risks of other bigger brigades," he said.

The Temuka brigade then passed down one of its fire engines to the Murchison fire brigade.

First of Its Kind Wildland Fire Station Opening in San Antonio (TX)

The station will house several brush trucks, an engine, and EMTs. It will provide wildland fire protection not only to the city's south side, but also to South Texas.

Stove was source of apartment fire in Ellensburg

Three apartments sustained fire damage and at least three more had smoke or water damage after a fire Saturday afternoon north of the Central Washington University campus in Ellensburg. Lacey firefighters rescue puppies from Meridian Road blaze

Five puppies were rescued Monday from a burning outbuilding in the 7000 block of Meridian Road Southeast, said Lacey Fire District 3 Chief Steve Brooks. Firefighters responded at 8:51 a.m. to a raging fire at a large outbuilding that housed dogs and puppies, said Battalion Chief Tim Hulse. A mother dog and her puppies were rescued, Hulse said.
