A former Birmingham firefighter mailed a flier to 1,000 homes this week that’s critical of a captain on the city’s fire department.
In a series of emails, Mike McIntyre admits he’s responsible for sending out the flier. McIntyre became a Birmingham firefighter in June 2015 and served with the department until several weeks ago, when he accepted a resignation settlement.

A family of Seahawks fans, including a photographer who works for the team, are trying to salvage anything they can from their Lake Tapps house, which was destroyed in a fire.
About all that's left of the Debbie and Cliff Blumenthal’s home is a Seahawks flag hanging out front.
“Pretty tough,” said Jeff Marsh, who grew up in the house and returned to survey the damage, Monday.

Kennewick firefighters are seeing an increase in traumatic injury calls compared to this time last year.
It's a horrible accident that EMS fire officials said can be easily prevented.
The ice, too close for comfort as people hit the ground.
"That is everything from people slipping after climbing out of their car, to walking into a store, or they are walking down their driveway and they slip on the ice and fall," said Cpt.

One of the men killed in Saturday's deadly crash in the Naches River is heading to his final resting place in Prosser.
The body of 23-year-old James Wildman was received by Prosser firefighters on Monday at the Yakima County Coroner's office.
Yakima County firefighters also joined and paid their respects.
