Firefighters rescued a dog after a blaze ripped through a home on Blue Valley Road on Sunday morning.
Firefighter Bryce McGinley found the family pet, Koda, under a bed in the back bedroom of the home east of Port Angeles, said Marc Lawson, captain for Clallam County Fire District No. 3.
The dog was up and walking shortly after firefighters gave him water and oxygen.

The Spokane Valley Fire Department celebrated 75 years of service with a day of free family fun at Otis Orchards Station 4.
Many families checked out their Open House on Saturday afternoon.
"The kids can get involved and get up close and personal and see what they do behind the scenes," said Brenda Baetty, who brought her son, Jocavie to the event.

The people have spoken. The votes have been tallied. The will of the public has been done.
And there was much rejoicing.
Obviously, that’s not always the case (I’m looking at you, inevitably disappointing presidential election), but sometimes everybody really does win.
Case in point: the wildly popular support island voters put behind the proposals to expand the Bainbridge Island Fire Department’s staffing and the start of 24/7 manning at Station 23, which officially began on Tuesday and will be celebrated with a special station open house event Saturday, Nov.
