Akron Brass Releases UltraJet™ Handline Nozzle

UltraJet

Akron Brass announces the arrival of a new all-in-one handline nozzle. The UltraJet combines the powerful punch of a true smooth bore and the widespread protection of a full NFPA fog pattern in one. Now you can have the best of both, no matter your preferred style.

The UltraJet simplifies fire ground operations with intuitive functionality, matching flows in all patterns, and the ability to change patterns without shutting down. There is no need to control pressure at the pump. Simply turn the UltraJet bumper to transition from smooth bore, to narrow fog and then wide fog while maintaining consistent water flow
and pressure.

No additional training is required to get smooth bore and fog all in one. The UltraJet nozzle operates just like the standard nozzles you’ve been accustomed to using, making training straightforward and mutual aid no problem.

Capable of flowing anywhere from 118 to 297 gpm (447 to 1124 lpm), the UltraJet can hold its own on any fire ground. Need to flow foam? No problem. This nozzle can be used with CAFS and other foam applications. To reduce reaction force and fatigue on the firefighter, the UltraJet can be operated at pressures as low as 50 psi (3 bar). The combination of streams in one nozzle also eliminates the chance for lost or misplaced tips.

Why choose when you can have both patterns in one handline nozzle. Whether you flow water or foam or prefer smooth bore or fog, the UltraJet incorporates the best of both worlds so you never have to compromise.

Commercial Truck Bed Extension

Alpharetta, GA—Metcam has announced that TramBed 2.0, its patented commercial truck bed extension, will soon be available on the Truck Candy Web site. Although Truck Candy sells internationally, its headquarters are U.S.-based in Glendale, Arizona.

TramBed, which was introduced in 2015, is an aftermarket, slide-out truck bed with welded, adjustable, power-coated legs. With a TramBed installed in the factory truck bed, operators enjoy a convenient in-field work surface that places all their machinery and materials within easy reach. They can also transport up to 2,000 pounds of cargo in the TramBed and slide it out for quick access with complete stability and support. Metcam recently unveiled TramBed 2.0, an enhanced version available at a lower price thanks to the economies of fabricating a mature product.

Key features of TramBed 2.0 include:

  • Heavy-duty construction includes an all stainless steel deck and factory-welded, powder-painted extension rails and legs.
  • The easy-slide extension’s specialized design reduces the potential for finger-pinching and ensures the tram extension remains in a controlled position.
  • The TramBed extension is 20 percent longer than the typical truck bed extender.
  • TramBed is also optimal for use with a forklift, because loads do not have to be “evenly distributed” as they do for typical truck bed extensions.
  • The base model is designed for a standard (eight-foot) truck bed, with versions available for other bed lengths.
  • Shipping in the continental U.S.A. is included in the price.
  • Units arrive completely preassembled and ready for rapid installation.
