The Lebanon Fire Chief Perry Gerome was fired Monday after a traffic accident involving a fire truck. "As a result of an investigation conducted by City Manager Pat Clements regarding a traffic accident involving one of the City's Fire Engines, it was determined that City policies and procedures were not followed," a statement said from the city.
Officials said the firing was "in light of previous disciplinary action."
Gerome was suspended after being accused of using city fire trucks to stage a mock fire scene as part of a birthday party at his home earlier this year, according to a city spokesperson.
He is also accused of using city-owned chainsaws to remove storm damage from his property.
