Firefighters Contain Oil Spill Amid Blaze at Chehlis gas station

Fire crews were able to contain the majority of the 2,000 gallons of oil spilled during a fire Sunday night at a Chehalis gas station before it could reach nearby storm drains, Chehalis Fire Chief Ken Cardinale told The Chronicle Monday morning. The cause of the fire is under investigation, Cardinale said.

Longtime Woodinville fire lieutenant retires

After over 31 years with Woodinville Fire & Rescue, Lt. Steve Cooke has decided to enjoy retirement. A longtime employee of the district, Cooke has made an impact on all those who worked with him over the years. In addition to working as a firefighter and lieutenant, Cooke also served in training, public education and fire prevention.

Man dies in Graham house fire; medical condition might have trapped him

A 63-year-old Graham man died Monday in a house fire when he was unable to escape. A medical condition might have kept the man from getting out of the home, Graham Fire & Rescue spokesman Steve Richards said.
