Tecumseh (MI) City Council Approves Purchasing Nearly $17K Worth of Fire Equipment

The Tecumseh City Council recently approved the purchase of new firefighter helmets, fire boots, and firefighting gloves for the city’s fire department, wlen.com reported.

The nearly $17,000 purchase is the last of a five-year Personal Protective Gear Replacement Program through Tecumseh’s Capital Improvement Program, the report said.

The department will receive 15 helmets, 21 pairs of fire boots, and 21 pairs of firefighting gloves, according to the report.

This Year’s Heart Award is made up of individuals, non-profit organizations, and companies committed to serving their community and workforce.

VIDEO: Ohio apartment building destroyed in large fire

Nearly 20 crews are at the scene of a large fire at an apartment complex in Willoughby Friday morning, according to Willoughby Fire Chief Todd Ungar. The building was completely destroyed. The fire is at the Chagrin Riverwalk complex on Mentor Avenue between Erie Street and Kirtland Road. Ungar, who is at the scene, said no one was inside the building when the fire started.

Former NFL player becomes Florida firefighter after tragic loss

Wisconsin fire department gets new child transport device

VIDEO: Ambulance crews in Antigo have some help when taking care of young patients. A special security strap allows then to secure and transport pediatric patients. Up until now they've been using car seats, since traditional stretchers are made for the average adult. While most calls are for adults, they do occasionally need to take a child to the hospital.
