Crews battle overnight commercial fire at Redmond business park

Fire crews swarmed to a Redmond business park overnight as a commercial building there went up in flames. Firefighters worked hard to prevent the blaze from spreading to other nearby buildings. The huge fire response began at about 2 a.m. Friday when 911 dispatchers were notified of flames and smoke billowing from a business park in the 14600 block of NE 91st Street.

Fire chiefs say Snohomish County tax plan is misleading

At least six local fire chiefs say they have serious concerns about the Snohomish County Council's plans to float a criminal justice sales tax measure. The chiefs say the current draft of the tax measure would mislead voters into thinking some of the money could be used for firefighting. They're also worried that message would compete with fire department levies running on the same ballot in the Aug.
