Clallam Fire District No. 2 officials plan to move their administrative offices to new quarters at 1212 E. First St., vacating facilities shared with the city fire department.
Fire District No. 2 Chief Sam Phillips said that following the successful purchase and renovation of the new offices, which once housed a bank, the fire district will move out of the facility it has shared since 2008 with Port Angeles Fire Department at 102 E.

A child is dead after an accident Sunday involving a fire truck on Mississippi 43 in Rankin County.
Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Cpl. Eric Henry said a Lake Harbor Volunteer Fire Department tanker truck collided with a Ford Escape sometime before 2:45 p.m. Two firefighters were in the tanker truck, and a mother, father and their three children were in the vehicle.

The cause for last month’s sudden exit of the township’s veteran fire chief remains up in the air — or at least is not being discussed publicly.
Richard Marinucci Jr. either voluntarily resigned his $116,000 a year post March 18, or was pushed out for still unexplained reasons.
Speculation about what led to the move is fueled by anonymous emails sent to several Metro Detroit news agencies.

Charlotte Fire Chief Jon Hannan told the city manager last week that he was responsible for a personnel document being released to the media in apparent violation of state law, according to multiple people familiar with the investigation.
The March 4 document was written by Ron Carlee, the city manager, and was about Marty Puckett, the vice president of the Charlotte Firefighters Association Local 660.

The application period for the 2015 (Fiscal Year) Fire Prevention and Safety (FP&S) Grants opens today, April 4.
FEMA's goal is to award 100 grants totaling $34M.
