Life Flight and MedStar air ambulance companies officially merge

Starting tomorrow, the local flight provider will have a new name. That’s because Northwest MedStar and Life Flight Network are merging, effective tomorrow. While Northwest MedStar serves the Yakima Valley, Life Flight Network is an Oregon-based not-for-profit serving the Pacific Northwest and Intermountain West.

Attempt to put out grease fire in Olympia goes badly, spreads to rest of apartment

An effort to extinguish a stove top fire in a pan didn’t go as planned after the fire spread and damaged an apartment, according to the Olympia Fire Department. About 6 p.m. Thursday, Olympia fire crews, with support from Lacey Fire District 3, responded to a fire in the 3800 block of 22nd Avenue Southeast in Olympia.

Bellingham firefighters practice rescues

(VIDEO) City firefighters practiced rescue civilians and each other during their last training of the quarter Wednesday, March 30. Each of Bellingham Fire Department’s four shifts took turns dropping by a training facility on Britton Loop Road to “tie the bow” on the various skills they had been practicing since January, said Ryan Provencher, training division chief.
