Guns ‘N Hoses boxing event in Missouri raised $1M for first responder nonprofit

VIDEO: The annual Guns ‘N Hoses event at Enterprise Center presented a huge check Wednesday from last year’s event. The event raised one million dollars for the BackStoppers this past November. “That’s two years in a row at a million dollars, and how they’ve supported us,” said Chief Ron Battelle, executive director of the BackStoppers.

Car crashes into power pole in Yakima, catches on fire

VIDEO/PHOTOS: A car crashed into a power pole and caught fire on Wednesday evening in Yakima. Police and fire officials responded to the area of 16th Ave. and Washington Ave. The car had crashed into a power pole and was catching fire. Fire officials then hosed the fire down.

One person rescued from Ballard industrial accident

Seattle firefighters rescued a person after they were pinned by machinery equipment at an industrial site in Ballard Thursday morning. Crews were dispatched to the site near the 5200 block of Shilshole Ave for reports of a person pinned on an elevated conveyor belt. Firefighters were able to extricate the person and they were taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

Spokane: Fire damages multiple units at Agnes Kehoe Place Apartments

A fire broke out at the Agnes Kehoe Place Apartments on Thursday, Feb. 23. The Spokane Fire Department quickly put the fire out, and no one was injured. Multiple units in the apartment complex have minor damage. The fire started when a battery-operated device overheated near a mattress. The building's alarm system was triggered, and most of the tenants were able to evacuate safely.

Firefighters put out garage fire, install new smoke alarms at Kennewick home

The Kennewick Fire Department (KFD) responded to reports of a garage fire at 3515 W. John Day Avenue around 1:47 a.m. on February 22. When firefighters arrived on scene smoke could be seen coming from the garage attached to the home. According to a Kennewick Fire press release the fire was contained to the garage and was put out in about 15 minutes.
