Three people, including young child, escaped an overnight house fire in Maple Valley. The flames broke out at the home in the 16600 block of 244th Place Southeast. The fire was difficult to fight because of the home’s remote location. The family was alerted to the flames by a smoke detector, which crews say likely saved the occupants and an adjacent home.
