Clallam County Fire District 3 adds six firefighters to roll call

Six new firefighters joined Clallam County Fire District 3’s ranks this month. They include: Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician Tyler Campbell; FF/Paramedic Chris Darling; FF/EMT Jon Donahue; FF/EMT Paul Lang; FF/EMT Colton McGuffey, and FF/EMT Bo Pinnell. Fire Chief Ben Andrews said all of the new hires are “excellent” firefighters chosen from a competitive field.

Boy challenges Eastside Fire & Rescue members to epic socially-distant water fight

VIDEO: Challenge accepted! A Washington boy named Jaxen called on members of Eastside Fire & Rescue to join him in a water fight -- and the firefighters did not disappoint. Station 87 firefighters said after completing an emergency call, the crew met up with Jaxen and his friends on Monday for a socially distant water fight in the front yard.

Fire destroys Terrace Heights home, displaces five

An electrical fire destroyed a home and displaced five people Monday afternoon in Terrace Heights, East Valley Fire Department reported. Firefighters were called around 5 p.m. for a fire at 408 Butterfield Road. They were told the fire was on the outside of the house, but when they arrived the entire one-story structure was on fire, said fire Capt.

Fire causes propane, firework explosions near homes in Elk

Crews stopped a shed fire from spreading to a nearby home on East Jutte Lane in Elk early Tuesday morning. Flames were reported in the shop next to the house at 3:30 a.m. Homeowners said they do not know how the fire started. The fire caused nearby propane tanks, fireworks and some ammunition to explode.

Seattle Fire Department now at full strength with no firefighters in quarantine

The Seattle Fire Department is now back at full strength in its battle against COVID-19. As of Monday evening, none of its firefighters are in quarantine anymore, with all those infected or exposed considered in the clear, according to department spokesperson Kristin Tinsley. So far during the outbreak, 127 members of the department have gone through a 14-day quarantine period.
