Grant County: Controlled burn destroys trailer after winds cause it to spread too quickly

A trailer is destroyed after a controlled burn spread too quickly due to winds in Grant County . According to Grant County Fire District 13, when firefighters arrived on scene they found a demolished camp trailer and a half acre wildfire. The fire also threatened a home but was not damaged. "We can’t overstate how quickly fire will spread in the wind and spread easily to our vegetation and surrounding structures/vehicles.

Update: Grandson suspected of murdering grandparents at site of Key Peninsula arson

A charred home where bodies of a couple were found in the wake of a massive fire is now a crime scene, and their grandson has been arrested as a murder suspect. Witness called 911 around 8:30 p.m. to report hearing explosions and seeing flames engulf a home in the 18800 block of Bayview Road NWi in Vaughn, according to Pierce County Sheriff's Department officials.

King County: 2 people die after falling into Green River just days apart

Two people have died in three days after falling into the Green River. Search and rescue teams were called Saturday morning to the Green River Gorge after a woman in her 20s fell into the river. According to the King County Sheriff’s Office, three women were walking along the trail near the river when a woman in her 20s fell into the water.

Seattle paramedic on bringing mobile coronavirus testing to local nursing homes

In early March, Chief Scoggins realized it was almost impossible for us to get timely tests of our own members and that we would lose the resiliency of our workforce if we weren’t able to figure out who was sick and who wasn’t. They recognized the need for us to do our own testing. Previously, a nasal swab was not a skill that EMTs or paramedics were allowed to perform in the state of Washington.

Assault, Arson Suspect Brought Down by Kennewick Police

An assault on an elderly woman led to a standoff and confrontation with a suspect, and a fire in an apartment unit Saturday evening. Around 5:30PM Kennewick Police and SWAT were called to the Heatherstone Apartments at 1114 West 10th and found a 64-year-old woman had been assaulted and had a significant injury to her head.
