Pullman Fire Department officials said the improper disposal of a cigarette led to a fire at a duplex on Monday that caused $90,000 in damage. Pullman and Whitman County firefighters were called out at 11:31 p.m. to NW Harrison Street near the Harrison Tot Lot. The occupants initially told crews the fire had been extinguished, but when officials arrived there was smoke and fire on the front porch.
