Owners agree to demolition of building where Chicago firefighter died

The warehouse where firefighter Daniel Capuano suffered a fatal fall Dec. 14 will be demolished, attorneys for the building owner and the city told a judge Wednesday at a court hearing. And now the city wants the adjacent building torn down after inspectors said they uncovered safety problems next door.

Police recommend assault charge in Bremerton Motel 6 explosion

Detectives are recommending an assault charge for the man who authorities believe caused an explosion at Motel 6 by stepping on a gas line. The Aug. 18 blast leveled one end of the Kitsap Way motel, critically wounding a Cascade Natural Gas technician attempting to fix the leak and injuring several emergency responders.
