East Pierce Fire & Rescue receives award for breast cancer fundraising

East Pierce Fire and Rescue firefighters were recognized last week for their efforts during the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a Why I Pink Award presented by Opes Advisors, a west coast mortgage and wealth management company with offices in Enumclaw, Seattle, Kirkland and Spokane. The company sponsored the Why I Pink campaign to bring awareness to all cancers, says Sara Monzo, Opes Advisors, Pacific Northwest director of marketing.

Teen meets South King Fire and Rescue firefighters who saved him in Federal Way house fire

Parker Ewing, 15, recently visited the South King Fire and Rescue firefighters who saved his life. Parker and his great-grandpa were asleep when the family's home burned in a fire on Oct. 30. Parker led the family's two dogs out the back door and to safety but then he heard his great-grandpa crying for help and returned inside the house.

Departments Urged to Stay Vigilant in Light of Paris Attacks

Due to the recent terrorist attacks in Paris, the IAFC and WFC recommends its members maintain a high level of vigilance and situational awareness. At this time, there are no known, credible threats against the U.S.
