More than a decade later, a new memorial in Yakima County has been unveiled. Zillah's long-time project to honor fallen firefighters in Yakima County is now complete. On Saturday, the community gathered to honor the 12 firefighters in the county who have died in the line of duty.
"This is for you. This memorial is our way of showing our appreciation for your family members who have given the ultimate sacrifice to honor them and remember them forever," said Zillah Fire Department Chief Paul Stonemetz.
