PHOTO: Lynnwood firefighters comfort children at crash scene

A collision occurred on Monday in Lynnwood at 33rd and Alderwood Parkway. The roadway was blocked at around 1:30 p.m. Lynnwood fire officials advised one injury had been sustained. Fire officials told KIRO 7 the person suffered only minor injuries. Fire officials shared a photograph of the firefighters comforting two young children at the scene of the crash.

10 boats, 1 building gutted in inferno at S. Lake Union marina

A huge three-alarm blaze destroyed several expensive boats and a building at a Seattle marina overnight, forcing dozens of people to evacuate and leave everything they have in the path of the inferno. Crews responded to the Westlake Marina on South Lake Union just after 1 a.m. Monday after receiving reports of a rapidly-spreading fire.

East County Fire & Rescue deals with vacancy as interim chief opts to leave early

It may seem early in the season, but East County Fire & Rescue is doing some last-minute Christmas shopping. The fire chief is leaving earlier than expected, and unless there’s a breakthrough in the hiring process, there won’t be a permanent chief to take his place until next year. “June 16 is when I gave them notice,” interim Fire Chief Dean Thornberry said.
