The Washington Child Passenger Safety Program named Thorstenson as the outstanding child passenger safety technician instructor for 2015.

Firefighters are battling a 2-alarm fire at a commercial building in Federal Way Thursday morning. Crews were called to the 31500 block of 20th Avenue South, which is a building that is currently under construction, about 6:30 a.m. The building is a former school administration building, according to South King Fire and Rescue.
