Person found dead in Hoquiam RV fire

Police are searching for the cause of a fatal RV fire in Hoquiam after finding a person dead inside early Sunday morning. Hoquiam Fire Department and first responders found heavy fire and smoke upon arrival to Hoquiam River RV Park in the 400 block of Queen Avenue. After aggressively attacking and extinguishing the fire, a person was found dead inside the RV.

Spokane: Woman escapes apartment fire on Lower South Hill

A fire broke out on the Lower South Hill in Spokane Saturday night, where a woman successfully escaped from the fire. The Spokane Fire Department says they were sent to a fire at 1724 W. 8th Ave. just past 9 p.m. Firefighters arriving to the scene saw smoke and fire coming from the first story of a two-floor, four-unit apartment building.

Easton (MA) Fire Truck Crashes During Emergency Call; Driver Cited with Failure to Yield

An Easton fire truck responding to an emergency call January 3 swerved into a wooded area to avoid a civilian vehicle, the Easton Fire Department said in a written statement, EnterpriseNews.com reported.

On Tuesday at approximately 1 p.m., in the area of 539 Bay Road, a vehicle “failed to yield while going around a second vehicle that had stopped for the fire engine and subsequently crossed into the path of the engine,” the statement said.

At the time, the engine had its lights and sirens activated, according to the report.

Two firefighters were treated for minor injuries, and the engine “sustained some damage,” according to the fire department. There were no civilian injuries or vehicle damage.

Easton police cited the vehicle for “failing to yield to an emergency vehicle,” following an investigation into the incident, the report said.

Police: Woman Charged with DWI After Hitting Dallas (TX) Fire Truck

Dallas police say a woman has been charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing into a Dallas fire truck, IrvingWeekly.com reported.

At around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Dallas firefighters were working a crash on I35E near Storey Lane when a woman collided into the back of a blocker unit, the report said. Blocker units are retired fire apparatus used to block highway scenes for personnel safety.

Dallas paramedics transported the woman to a local hospital in critical condition, the report said.

No firefighters were injured.

House fire kills one near Moses Lake

Grant County Fire Marshal Nathan Poplawski is reporting a death in a house fire that happened just outside of Moses Lake. Poplawksi reported the fatality on Saturday, January 7 at 5:46 a.m. The memo published by the fire marshal did not specify a day or time as to when the fire happened, but it did disclose that it happened at a home on Goodrich Road.
