RV destroyed by fire along I-405 in Renton

An RV has been burned to its shell after it caught fire along I-405 in Renton Sunday afternoon. Flames began shooting from the RV as it sat disabled in the southbound lanes near the exit to Lake Washington Boulevard, according to Renton Fire. The RV eventually became fully engulfed, and by the time firefighters got the fire out, all that was left was a charred frame.

Bikers ride Spirit Lake Memorial Highway in DeRosier memorial ride

On an otherwise still morning near Mount St. Helens’ Johnston Ridge Observatory, it was hard to miss the sound of more than 100 motorcycle engines raring up Spirit Lake Memorial Highway. Clad in leather jackets and sunglasses, the bikers made the roughly 60-mile ride Saturday morning from Kelso for what they hope to be only the first year of the annual Deputy Justin DeRosier Memorial Ride.

Annual Fill the Boot Campaign Saturday in East Wenatchee

Warm temps, wildfire smoke possible for western Washington next week

A big change to our overall weather pattern in western Washington is forecast to happen the last week of August. For the first time in a long time, we will see a persistent easterly offshore flow which will help give us a streak of warm temperatures, as well as potentially give us some wildfire smoke.

Crews extinguish fire at apparent vacant house in northwest Spokane

Spokane Fire crews were able to knock down a house fire in northwest Spokane Friday morning. The fire was reported at a home near Ash St. & Carlisle Ave around 9 a.m. Friday. Crews tell KHQ's Patrick Erickson the fire was confined to the basement of the house. The home appears to be vacant with no gas or electricity, and no one was inside at the time of the fire.
