Swimmer describes car landing in pool at Seattle gym

A Seattle man is being called a hero after he helped save a 69-year-old driver who crashed through the glass wall of an LA Fitness center -- the car landing in the middle of the swimming pool. The bizarre incident happened just before 8 a.m. Monday at the LA Fitness near Aurora Avenue North and 132nd Street.

Richland mobile home severely damaged by fire

A fire caused major damage to a mobile home in Richland Wednesday afternoon. According to the Richland Fire Department, multiple people who were inside when the fire broke out managed to get out safely. Firefighters rushed to the home on Proton Lane near Center Street shortly after 5 p.m. When they arrived, heavy flames were showing out the windows on two sides of the home, and the fire was threatening two other nearby buildings.

Fire crews, DNR battle Wiser Lake wildfire that reportedly injures firefighter

Approximately three to five acres of a grass field has burned in a wildfire burning south of Lynden on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 14, and a firefighter was reportedly transported from the area with dehydration. The fire has been named the Wiser Lake Fire, Washington State Department of Natural Resources spokesperson Janet Pearce told The Bellingham Herald.

No injuries in reported ‘bug bomb’ explosion in Seattle's Capitol Hill apartment building

Seattle Fire responded but fortunately found no flames after a reported explosion blew open doors inside an E Olive Way apartment building Wednesday. According to SFD radio updates on the just before noon incident, units were dispatched after a resident reported an explosion inside the E Olive Way at Bellevue building.

$10,000 reward for info on arsonist who set fires at Cedarcrest Middle School in Marysville

Marysville Police are asking for the public's help to solve an arson at Cedarcrest Middle School. Detectives say fires were intentionally set in a building behind the classrooms and in a dumpster at about 5:30 am on Thursday, August 1st, and caused more than $70,000 in damage. "We're hoping that there has been communication, some type of communication between those responsible through either social media or through texting or some other type of communication where they're actually providing information that they were there, or that they witnessed it, or they were part of the act and give us a little bit of lead into which way to go from here," said Marysville PD Det.
