VIDEO: Tucson Fire Department and the University of Arizona have been partnering for nearly a decade to study just how much a firefighter’s job increases their risk for serious health issues, like cancer.
Their research has led to nationwide safety changes in the firefighting industry and the recognition of more cancers presumed to be caused on the job.

PHOTOS: There are many reasons why you might want to call the fire department. Your house might be on fire, or a petrol tanker may have just overturned. Or, like this one driver of a Ford F-150, you might be stuck 10 feet in the air and in serious need of rescue.

The Naches Fire Department is getting an upgrade to its airpacks through a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grant worth a total of $691,335.
The grant is split between NFD, Nile-Cliffdell Fire & Rescue District 14 and the Highland Fire Department to upgrade their self-contained breathing apparatus, also known as airpacks.

Two people were injured in a boat explosion at a New Jersey marina Wednesday afternoon.
Old Bridge Township Police said officers were sent to the Raritan Marina just before 3:30 p.m.
Video from Chopper 2 shows firefighters spraying water on a boat engulfed in flames in the creek. The flames sent plumes of black smoke billowing into the air.

VIDEO/PHOTOS: The city of Hartselle says two firefighters were taken to the hospital after a fire truck hit a house Wednesday afternoon.
In a post on social media, the city said that while returning from a fire call Wednesday, the driver of fire engine two experienced a medical emergency and lost control of the vehicle near the Dollar General on Highway 36 West.
