Fire reported in Sterling Junior High portable

VIDEO: Fire crews are responding to a fire that started in a Sterling Junior High School portable building Tuesday afternoon in East Wenatchee. The building was unoccupied when the fire began, according to Wenatchee Valley Fire Department Chief Brian Brett. No injuries were reported, but about 15 children were in need of a precautionary medical check due to smoke.

Brett noted that adjacent portable buildings were also unoccupied. The fire was reported about 1:30 p.m. Crews were still fighting the fire when Brett spoke to The Wenatchee World at 1:45 p.m. The cause of the fire was not immediately clear.
