Fire Department in Florida loses fire truck & ambulance to Hurricane Ian, firehouse condemned

VIDEO: Hurricane Ian caused millions of dollars in damage to the Fort Myers Beach Fire Department’s emergency vehicles and buildings, both on and off the island. In total, one fire truck, one ambulance and an alternative response vehicle were destroyed when Hurricane Ian’s storm surge busted into a firehouse that is now condemned.

EMS in Louisiana uses unique lifesaving technique for 100th time

VIDEO: The New Orleans EMS administered blood to a woman shot on Bourbon Street Sunday morning while she was still in the street. They say this is a rare ability for EMS services across the country and saves lives. Thomas Mauro was the paramedic who gave her the blood using a Lifeflow device. He was able to get blood into the victim in just 10 minutes as opposed to the normal 40 or so minutes it can take to get victims' blood in a hospital.

Woman critically injured after tree falls onto Marysville home during windstorm

A woman was critically injured in Marysville late Friday night after the strong winds that whipped through western Washington toppled trees. The Marysville Fire Department responded to a home near 56th and 105th Place Northeast just after 10:30 p.m. Friday for a report of a tree down. A tree had fallen onto a home and a woman was trapped inside, according to fire officials.

Occupants Displaced by fire in Kennewick

Kennewick Fire Chief Chad Michael released information Sunday about an early-morning fire Sunday. According to Michael, a 9-1-1 call came in about a residential fire at 2309 West 1st. Ave, resulting in units from Kennewick, Richland and Benton County being dispatched. However, en route, the units were told the caller hung up.
