Abilene voters are going to decide this election on an $8 million bond that will help build Fire Station 9, KTXS.com reported.
The proposed location for the new station is off of East 707 next to Highway 83/84 just south of Kirby Lake, the report said.
The annual cost for citizens would come with an increase of about $8 on their property taxes for every $100,000 that their property is worth according to city officials.
The $8 million price tag would cover design, construction and equipment costs but with inflation affecting prices everywhere, the hope is to get the project approved and finished before costs continue to rise, according to the report.
