VIDEO: Jesse Yeatts has been a firefighter with Gretna Fire and EMS since the early 1970s. 50 years later, he has run around 20,000 calls during his career, saving countless lives along the way.

VIDEO/PHOTOS: An investigation is underway after suspected arson early Monday morning in Seattle's Licton Springs neighborhood.
The fire, which spread from one apartment building to another on the 8800 block of Nesbit Avenue North — about a block east of Aurora Avenue North — prompted the Seattle Fire Department to upgrade its response to two alarms due to the dangerous conditions, the SFD said.

People gathered in Spokane to participate in a stair climb event honoring the emergency response teams of 9/11.
Participants had the opportunity to climb 110 flights of stairs, mirroring the efforts of first responders responding to the attacks.
Joey Beardslee, a student at Washington State University, took part in the "Step to Remember" fundraiser.

Nearly 50 firefighters were dispatched to a massive barn fire in Parkland, where one firefighter was later transported to a hospital after showing signs of heat exhaustion. The firefighter is expected to be OK.
The incident happened at around 5 a.m. Monday, when units received a call concerning a barn and guest house fire.

VIDEO: As part of a national effort to eradicate the use of a fire-suppressing foam containing PFAS, officials removed the last of the toxic foam from the fire trucks at the Bangor International Airport and replaced it with a PFAS-free solution.
Positioned next to the airport's runway is the 101st Air Refueling Wing Fire Protection Unit.
