One person was transported to the hospital after a fire truck was involved in a single-vehicle accident in Hurricane (WV), WOWKTV.com reported.

Putnam County Dispatchers say it happened near the Walmart in the area of Hurricane Creek Road and Peach Ridge Road, around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Hurricane Fire Department chief said one of its trucks was traveling south on Hurricane Creek Road when a small white car was driving north on the road, the report said.

According to the fire chief, the driver of the car crossed the center line, and the driver of the fire truck swerved to miss it. When the fire truck driver did this, the asphalt gave way, and the vehicle crashed into a ditch, the report said.

The firefighter was alone in the truck and was taken to Cabell-Huntington Hospital to be examined. The fire chief said the firefighter was alert at the scene, according to the report.

Twinsburg (OH) will spend $1.72 million on a new Pierce Velocity 107-foot ladder tandem T3 fire truck after the city council approved the purchase October 25, BeaconJournal.com reported.

The truck will be bought from Atlantic Emergency Solutions Inc. of Virginia and will replace a 2000 Ferrara 109-foot ladder truck, the report said.

Council passed the fire truck purchase legislation on emergency so paperwork can be completed and the deal finalized before November 1, when the truck’s cost will rise by more than $93,000, according to the report.

Delivery of the truck is not expected until late 2025.

San Antonio firefighters battled a fire at a permanently shut down bar on the city’s Northeast Side early Wednesday morning. The fire was called in just before 4:30 a.m. at what was previously Midnight Rodeo, not far from both Thousand Oaks and Nacogdoches Road.
