The Kennewick Fire Department responded to a house fire at 2716 West 6th Place around 8:20 a.m. When someone called the fire in to dispatch, the dispatcher reported hearing screams in the background.
Crews were on scene within five minutes. They found a fire coming from the back of the house, which was quickly put out with water, according to Kennewick Fire Chief Chad Michael.

Local fire agencies have determined the cause of the wildfire and commercial structure fire that occurred in Kennewick on Sept. 22.
Just before 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 22, Fire Crews from Benton County Fire District #1 responded to a report of a wildfire at U.S. 395 and I-82.
When Fire Cres arrived on scene, they observed a wildfire that had quickly spread.

The Goat Rocks Fire northeast of Packwood has seen recent growth along Coal Creek. On Thursday morning, the blaze was reportedly one half mile away from the Upper Timberline neighborhood.
Fortunately, after about two weeks of more than 200 firefighters working the project, fire protection lines are around 85% complete in the neighborhood and the process of moving fuel from nearby structures is finished.

A Renton man admitted to having a dozen Molotov cocktails during a 2020 protest.
Justin Christopher Moore, 34, was in U.S. District Court this week for the crime, which was connected to the plot to burn the Seattle Police Officers Guild building in downtown Seattle during Sept. 2020.
Moore admitted he made and carried the box of 12 explosive devices in the protest to the building on Labor Day.

Fire crews are continuing to mop up what they first called a "fast-moving" brush fire in Des Moines.
Crews with South King Fire responded to the fire in the 20800 block of 17th Ave. South around 3 p.m. Thursday.
The fire was quickly upgraded to a 3-alarm blaze.
The fire spanned roughly 3 acres and five agencies tended to the blaze.
