New York City Housing Authority proposes new policy that would ban e-bikes, lithium-ion batteries from buildings

VIDEO: An increase in fires caused by lithium-ion batteries has sparked a call for better education and enforcement efforts from New York City leaders. There were 104 fires caused by lithium-ion batteries in 2021, leading to 79 injuries and four deaths, according to the FDNY. This year, that number is already up to 126, with 74 injuries and five deaths.

Legislation to help first responders and educators buy homes has rare bipartisan support

The HELPER Act is a bipartisan legislation bill and home loan assistance program backed by Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff to allow law enforcement, firefighters, EMS and educators of grades K-12 to purchase homes in the communities they serve. Health First is 1st in Florida to offer whole blood on air ambulances

VIDEO: A new tool to treat those suffering from trauma-related injuries in Brevard County is now available as they fly to the hospital. Widow of Stevens County firefighter celebrates profession with painting for Loon Lake station

On Sunday, Stevens County Fire District 1 unveiled a new feature in the Loon Lake Station lobby: a beautiful painting by Sharon "Shane" Wayson, created as a tribute to both the district and her late husband, who volunteered there until his passing in 2017. David Wayson spent forty years volunteering to keep his community safe.

Follow Up: New Pasco fire station identification chip revealed

Community members are one step closer to completing the collection of Pasco Fire's station identification chips. Local firefighters designed special logos to represent each of the station in Pasco. Ben Shearer with the Pasco Fire Department released the fourth chip in the six-piece series, highlighting Station 84, the 'Jack of all Trades.
