Station 2 for the Bullhead City (AZ) Fire District remains on schedule and is expected to be completed by the end of the year, according to a report published by the Mohave Valley Daily News.
With a price tag of $5.15 million, the station was a significant part of a $16.7 million bond issue passed in 2017 by fire district voters, according to the report.
The project included demolition, reconstruction and remodeling of the existing station and construction of new facilities, according to the report, that also said that steel for the new construction is expected to be delivered by August 15.
City officials had questioned why they were not seeing more visible activity at the site, but were assured by the contractors that subtle, but important work, was being completed on the site in anticipation of the steel delivery, the report said, noting that the assembly of the steel structure will be visual progress and a milestone in the construction of the new facility.
