Yakima Valley Emergency Management working on new Hazard Mitigation Plan

Yakima Valley Emergency Management (YVEM) is asking for the community's help to update Yakima County's Hazard Mitigation Plan. They've put out a survey and are asking you to fill it out before July 31. The Hazard Mitigation Plan needs to be updated every five years. They want community members to tell them what hazards should be included in the plan.

Keyes Fibre fire closes Highway 97A in both directions north of Wenatchee

A fire at Keyes Fibre Corporation closed Highway 97A north of Wenatchee in both directions Friday afternoon. Black smoke poured from vents and flames could be seen coming out of the roof of the building at 3715 N. Highway 97A at about 2:25 p.m., as a second-alarm fire was declared. Firefighters converged on the plant in at least seven fire trucks just after 1:35 p.

Buffalo (NY) Fire Engine Stolen During Med Call, Found Burning

A Buffalo (NY) fire truck was stolen while on a medical at around midnight on Friday morning and was found a short time later on fire, according to a report broadcast by NBC 2 WGRZ.

The station reported an individual took off in the engine from the 500 block on Main Street at 11:50 pm while firefighters were on an EMS call. It was recovered near the intersection of Delaware Avenue an Allen Street. It was reportedly on fire when it was discovered and a journalist from the TV station saw smoke coming from the apparatus with dozens of responders and police officers at the scene,

A person was taken into custody in connection with the incident, according to the report.
