First responders from around the area are honoring the 19 firefighters who sacrificed their lives over 60 years ago in the Shamrock McKee Refinery Explosion.
The memorial service starts at 6:30 p.m. on July 29 at the Moore County Courthouse in Dumas.
On July 29, 1956, 19 firefighters rushed into the flames to protect everyone in the Shamrock McKee Refinery Explosion in Moore County.

On one of the hottest days of the year so far, firefighters were working Wednesday evening to extinguish a three-alarm fire at a sprawling apartment complex that sent plumes of flames and thick black smoke billowing into the air.

One man has died after being swept into the Spokane River near Downriver Drive and Pettet Drive, according to the Spokane Fire Department (SFD).
SFD told KHQ that two men were hanging out by the river, when one of them got in and was swept away.
First responders found him, pulled him out of the water and tried to revive him for about half an hour, but he didn't survive.

Smells of black coffee and bacon filled the West Thurston Fire Station in Rochester on Tuesday morning. The lights were off and the blinds were drawn low in an effort to keep the station cool before the sweltering heat would become inescapable later in the day.
Though it was breakfast time for his coworkers, firefighter Chris White was just getting off shift.
