Demers Ambulance USA Names MacQueen Emergency as Dealer Partner of Crestline Products in SD

Committed to enhancing its US dealer partner network, Demers USA, authorized U.S. distributor of Crestline products, is proud to announce MacQueen Emergency will now represent the Crestline brand throughout South Dakota.

Hamden (CT) to Replace 100-Year-Old Station for $8.6M

Tuesday was a “very big day” in the history of the Hamden Fire Department, as city officials agreed to issue $8.6 million in bonds to replace Station 2, one of the city’s oldest fire stations.

The project will replace the 100-year-old Dixwell Avenue facility with a new one on Putnam Avenue, reports fox61.com. The current facility violates numerous safety and accessibility standards.

The money will fund upgrades in a pre-fabricated station, which has already been acquired by the town, the report notes.

Oxford (AL) Donates Fire Truck to Munford Fire and Rescue

Oxford city council Tuesday night approved the donation of a surplus fire truck to the Munford Fire and Rescue Service, reports annistonstar.com.

Longmont (CO) Fire Chief’s Widow Donates His Gear to Ukraine

Nearly 10 years after his death, Longmont Division Chief Lynn Huff’s gear is headed to Ukraine, to help others fight fires, reports 9News. Huff died in a hiking accident in Hawaii three years after his retirement when ground beneath him gave way.

Since then, his wife Barbara has kept much of his gear just as he left it when he was active at the Mountain View Fire Rescue Station in Boulder.

But watching the firefighters struggle to do their jobs during the war, she decided he would rather it go where it would be used for its intended purpose: helping others.

“That was his whole life, service to others above self,” she told 9News.
