The Plymouth (MN) Fire Department revealed renovations to Fire Station 3 over the weekend, according to a report published by KSTP 5 Eyewitness News.

The renovated station was designed primarily to accommodate full-time firefighters as the department transitioned from just paid on-call to full-time career firefighters, according to the report.

The newly renovated station has training facility, and living quarters, the report said, noting that Station 2 has recently been torn down and is being rebuilt with a scheduled opening by the end of this year.

Two people were killed in an early Monday morning trailer fire near Moses Lake. Grant County Fire District 5 responded about 3:45 a.m. to the Cougar Campers RV Park in the Wheeler community, located east of Moses Lake. Fire crews arrived to find a fifth-wheel travel trailer fully-involved in fire. The bodies of two people were found inside the trailer after the fire was extinguished, according to the sheriff’s office.

A motorist drove over a fire hose in Arlington (NY), damaged the hose and interrupted the water supply to a garage fire over the weekend, according to a report published by Mid Hudson News.

According to the report, a fire was reported at a garage on Saturday afternoon and Arlington firefighters connected a line to a hydrant to fight the detached two-car garage when the motorist ignored emergency vehicles and drove over the large diameter hose. The motorist damaged the hose which might cost up to $1,000 to replace, according to the report.

Fortunately, firefighters were able to contain the fire to the garage which was about 15 feet from the house, according to the report, which added that the motorist was ticketed for driving over the hose which is a violation of state law.   

A Memphis (TN) fire truck is in the news again after it was hit at a crash scene on Interstate 240, according to a news report published by WREG 3 News.

According to the report at least three cars and the fire truck were involved in the crash and two people were hospitalized, but their conditions were not immediately known.

The fire truck crash happened when the engine which was at the scene of a previous crash was hit from behind, according to the report which said no firefighters were injured.

The accident was the four involving a Memphis fire truck in less than a month. One crash claimed the life of a firefighter and another killed a motorcyclist when he was hit by a fire truck as it pulled out of the station responding to a call.

The new, state-of-the-art fire engine was christened with a push-in ceremony that included crews and community members washing the engine and pushing it backwards into a bay in a tradition dating back to the 1800s. Boulder Station 2, serving the University of Colorado Boulder and University Hill, is the designated primary location for Engine 2502, which is equipped with battery-powered extrication equipment for responding to vehicle accidents, additional turning signals, a hose-bed cover due to frequent high winds and tie-offs for rope rescue calls in the Flatirons. The fully equipped engine cost approximately $800,000.
