Jamestown (ND) Takes Steps to Lock in Price of New Fire Rescue Rig

To insulate the community from supply chain issues, inflation and huge price spikes the Jamestown (ND) Fire Department are taking steps to guarantee the price of a new rescue truck to be delivered in 2024, according to a report published by News Dakota.com.

The report said the Jamestown Finance & Legal Committee are looking at an agreement through Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing that would guarantee the price at $585,264. To lock in that price, the city would have to agree to pay $324,094 when the chassis is delivered to the body building plant next year, according to the report.

The city is also looking at discounts for paying in advance of delivery of the apparatus, the report said.

The fire department and the finance committee agreed to recommend the purchase to the full city council for final approval, according to the report, which also said if approved, the new apparatus would be ready for delivery by the end of 2024.
