The months-long search for the next Kittitas Valley Fire & Rescue chief has come to an end. The Fire Protection District No. 2 Board of Commissioners unanimously decided Wednesday to offer the job to Jon Perry. Perry was one of three candidates. He will replace Chief John Sinclair, who is stepping down at the end of this year.

Whenever you see the city fire and emergency vehicles serving among the escorts for Brewster students and athletes heading off to compete in the many events they qualify for every year, one of those who deserves a tip of the hat is Brewster Fire Chief Dylan Gamble. Gamble has been city fire chief since November 2017.

VIDEO: A driver smashed into an Albuquerque Fire Rescue truck in July. The crash happened as the fire truck was responding to a different crash in the Northeast Heights. The crash was caused by a driver officials say had been drinking earlier that night, and it left the fire truck out of service. Luckily no one was injured, but the video shows just how much damage was caused by the crash.

VIDEO/PHOTOS: The Orchard Park Fire District will be using a cloud-based software called Florian. The fire district will be the first fire and emergency medical service provider in Western New York to use the software. The district fire chief called the technology "indispensable," for the Windom Volunteer Fire Company, which is technically the only volunteer fire department that serves a major NFL team.
