Snoqualmie Firefighters Give Coats to Local School Kids with Operation Warm

As 2024 kicks off, the upper Snoqualmie Valley is feeling a bit warmer, thanks to the efforts of local firefighters and the backing of the Snoqualmie Firefighter Association. Firefighter Darby Summers took the lead on the Operation Warm project to get coats to kids in Snoqualmie schools who need them.

No injuries after car plows into Lynnwood business

PHOTOS: A car was driven into a business in Lynnwood on Tuesday afternoon. At about 12:30 p.m., firefighters with South County Fire responded to the business in the 2500 block of 196th Street Southwest in Lynnwood. Officers with the Lynnwood Police Department were also at the scene. According to South County Fire, the car did not hit any of the building’s structural supports.

Largest proposed wind farm in state slashed in half, firefighting issues are part of the problem

A controversial wind farm that was set to be the largest in Washington has been slashed in half. The proposed project outside the Tri-Cities has raised concerns about endangered hawks and viewsheds. However, the project developer said these new restrictions could be bad for renewable energy development in the state.

Moses Lake Fire Department rescues four pets from house fire

Moses Lake firefighters have rescued four pets from a house fire. According to the department's Facebook page, officers with the Moses Lake Police Department were the first to respond and rescued two large dogs. Firefighters were able to find two more small pets after arriving on scene. A small dog and cat were reportedly treated for smoke exposure at the scene.

VIDEO: Historic lodge in Minnesota destroyed by fire

PHOTOS: A North Shore landmark has been reduced to rubble by a major fire reported early Tuesday. The operators of Lutsen Resort say their historic lodge is a total loss after burning to the ground. The Cook County Sheriff's Office confirms that staff members called 911 just after 12:30 a.m. reporting smoke coming from the floor in the lobby of the lodge.
