Crews battle fires at two Tacoma homes

One home was destroyed and a second was damaged by early morning fires in Tacoma. The fire at a home on North 26th and North 11th Street was called out shortly before 3 a.m. Tuesday. It then spread to a second adjacent home, which is now uninhabitable. The first home burned to the ground. Firefighters remain at the scene working to put out hot spots.

Spokane Valley Fire Department opens new station in Liberty Lake

A new $4 million fire station is serving Liberty Lake. The Spokane Valley Fire Department celebrated the opening of a three-door firehouse in a ceremony Monday, about eight months after construction began. Dozens of city leaders from Liberty Lake and Spokane Valley gathered Monday for the ceremony, which included words from fire Chief Brian Collins.

Seattle: Massive flames engulf Ballard home

Massive flames engulfed a vacant home in Ballard late Sunday. The home that caught fire at about 11 p.m. was one of three near 15th Avenue Northwest and Northwest 80th Street that are boarded up. The city fenced off the homes a few days ago because there was a squatter in one of the other homes. Fire crews had to cut through the chain link fence to access the home and then also cut through the boards on the home to get inside.

Crews respond to fire at liquor store in Eatonville

Crews responded to a fire at a liquor store Sunday night in Eatonville, according to Pierce County Fire. The store, located at 107 Michelle Avenue North, is closed and there are no reports of injuries. The fire is under control, according to Pierce County Fire.

No one hurt in fire at south Everett home

A family of six was displaced after a fire broke out in the attic of their south Everett home on Sunday morning. No one was injured. The local chapter of the American Red Cross was assisting the family of two adults and four children, said Leslie Hynes, a spokeswoman for South Snohomish County Fire & Rescue.
