VIDEO: It's been five months since three first responders were killed in the line of duty in Burnsville.
Police officers Paul Elmstrand and Matthew Ruge, along with firefighter and medic Adam Finseth, were shot as they responded to a 911 call for help on Feb. 18.
There are reminders everywhere at Burnsville police headquarters; in hallways and offices; and even the garage.

VIDEO: A pair of bills recently signed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer seek to help address the EMS Staffing Crisis.
HB-4613 and HB-4614 stretch "temporary licenses" for medical first responders from 120 days to a year and allow them to work on ambulances as long as they're supervised.
Genesee County has been struggling especially during the shortage.

VIDEO: One house was a complete loss and another sustained significant damage after a fire broke out in Kirkland early Tuesday morning; however, thanks to the quick actions of an observant night owl, no one was hurt.
The Kirkland Fire Department was called to the 13000 block of 129th Avenue Northeast at around 2 a.

VIDEO: An "emergency medicine legend" in the Pacific Northwest passed away on Friday, July 26, as the University of Washington announced that Dr. Michael Copass died.
Dr. Copass was the director of emergency services for decades at Harborview Medical Center. He also founded Airlift Northwest in 1982, which has taken over 100,000 patients to critical medical care in the region since its founding.

The Cougar Creek Fire, located approximately 23 miles southwest of Asotin near Highway 129, continues to challenge firefighting teams as they battle the blaze across rugged terrain and a varied landscape of timber, grass, and brush.
As of Monday morning, July 29, the fire was being held to 15,703 with 29% containment.
