Lacey firefighters rescue woman and dog from burning house

Lacey Fire District 3 firefighters rescued a woman and her dog from a burning house Monday afternoon. The woman suffered burns and smoke inhalation and was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital. The dog received oxygen, Lacey Battalion Chief Pat Harn said. Lacey police arrived first about 1:20 p.m.

'Meatball John' Keeps Kitsap Area Firefighters in Peppers and Cheese

Lynden firefighter lawsuit settled for $250,000

The city has settled, for $250,000, a firefighter’s lawsuit that alleged discrimination and a hostile work environment. The City Council approved the agreement and release of all claims at its Monday meeting. “It is time to put this lawsuit behind us so it is no longer a distraction,” Mayor Scott Korthuis said.

Kennewick: Firefighters train with live-fire to make realistic scenarios

It's a big week for local firefighters. Many of them are out training at their practice center fighting fire with fire. "We could be called at any moment in time to do what we're doing here today," said Michael Hodo, a local firefighter. Firefighters from six different agencies in our counties came together to train.

Vacant NE Spokane home catches fire for second time in two days

Early Wednesday morning firefighters responded to a fire in the 5000 block of N. Lee St. in northeast Spokane. Firefighters tell us they responded to a fire at the same home the day before, Tuesday afternoon. The cause of that fire was determined to be electrical but it’s not certain what caused the home to reignite.
