Four construction workers were injured when an under-construction fire station in Long Beach collapsed Friday afternoon, reports CBS.
The building is a future Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) station near Pier D along the Gerald Desmond Bridge, and the collapse occurred at around 2:15 p.m., the report says.
One person was trapped, extricated by emergency crews, and transported to the hospital. Three others suffered injuries and were treated at the scene, the report says.
LBFD officials say the incident was caused by a partial steel frame collapse.
